A Good Read for My Readers

So a man by the name of Josh Todd did all of his readers a big favor and wrote this PPV guide. Since this whole journey is about be learning and starting from the basics, I thought this would be a nice read for me. Turns out that this was the most useful thing I have read online about affiliate marketing that was free. Please understand, I say this knowing that what he is talking about is for the beginner looking to start with no basic grasp on PPV advertising. I have very little experience with PPV and I feel like I got a lot out of the targeting and bidding sections of this pdf. He explains in the introduction that you cant make millions from this alone. He simply wrote this to give you a platform to think for yourself and become an innovator. I really did get that feeling when i was reading this book. As i went through the steps, my mind was thinking of the twists and that was exactly what he meant for this to do.

Like I said, this is a free pdf. All you have to do is give your name and email address and the site will send you an activation link, then an e-mail with the pdf link. I would just directly link you to the pdf, but He did a lot of work and should get some credit for it. I hope you guys benefit from it like I think I will. Hard to Get…Hard to Satisfy

     Well it has been a few weeks since I last wrote a post and I was thinking… IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT!!! HAHA … I’m Kiddinggggg, I promise. I have been a little bit wusy starting up my last year of college. Trying to get into all my classes and get settled. I haven’t been doing too much marketing, but I haven’t totally ignored it. I have kept up with the Twitter stuff. I now have 10 accounts and a total of 25,000 to 30,000 followers. Making about 3 bucks a day with that only promoting RevTwit and gettiong like 30 clicks a day or something like that. Not a lot of money by any means, but it’s posting the ads for me so there isnt much work involved.

     I began writing this post as an update to what io have been up to. I wanted to make sure that all 9 of my faithful readers didn’t feel like i forgot about this and forgot about them. I realized a lesson I learned as i was about to write down the next thing that I had been doing the last few weeks. I bought an E-Book a few days ago ( I KNOW! I said don’t waste your money on E-Books, but it was 10 bucks and promised it wasn’t a blown out method) and well it was a good Idea. I went with it for a few days and I actually made a few bucks without putting any money into the method at all. I was only testing it, but i made $27 in 2 1/2 days. I thought I found something to hold me over for the next few weeks which was nieve of me to think. After 2 1/2 days it seems that the website that had the loophole that I exploited FIXED THE LOOPHOLE and rendered the method useless. I am not giving too much detail to the method for a few reasons. I bought the book and don’t have permission to give information about it, it is very blackhat, and it doesn’t work anymore so why bother LOL. The point I am trying to make is that affiliate marketing is not stable or steady. You may find a method that will always work and not get saturated, BUT you will always have to adjust the niche or the lead in order to keep your conversions up and the money the same. Always moving on to the next best thing and keeping up on what is popular now. Don’t get comfortable and don’t be satisfied with anything that makes you a couple of bucks at the start because it will most likely become saturated and non-profitable in the long run.

     I hope that isn’t being interpreted as me saying there is no method that will ever work for long periods of time. That is not what I am saying. For example, PPC/keyword advertising is something that will always be popular and be a money source. What i am saying is that those people who do PPC for ResV ( Diet Pill ) will fail in time when the ad has been out there for a while. Those people need to take advantage of the method with that niche for a while and then use that same method and find a new hot lead in order to make good money. See the method is good, but the product gets old. There are methods that are long term, most are not, but either way you must not become satisfied. Try to remember how long it took for you to find the current method you are using and then imagine if it became totally non-profitable and you had to look for another method. Get the start on it when you are making money. This will allow you to do more research and more experimenting rather than waiting till you don’t have a method or money and not having the funds to find a new method to go with.

     Ok I am done rambling on. I really try to make these posts entertaining for my readers. I have a feeling this one may be one of the less entertaining, but I think it is one of the more important lessons I have learned in all the years I have been in the internet business.

Lesson Learned: E-Books Should Burn

     I’m going to say this again. I am a NOOB. I am learning and I and making mistakes. This blog isnt being written by a pro or a company. It is being written by an unemployed…scratch that, self employed 23 year old college student. I am going through all the same things you are going through right now and I am getting taken for rides the same way you are also.

     The biggest lesson I think I need to share with my readers is that in order to be an affiliate marketer, you have to be the best liar you know. Yea, a dirty… filthy…LIAR. This is good to know on both ends of the spectrum. A person who is beginning their journey into affiliate marketing and a person who has been making money with CPA advertising.

     For the person who is beginning their journey, don’t believe anything you hear. Garenteed 90% of what someone tells you is either a lie or not the whole truth. I will tell you right now that when I go over methods with you that most will be things people already know and already have done. I am going to try them, but I am going to try to find the reason why it works for those people as well. You are wondering why I would need to do that. Well, it is because if you bug someone long enough they will tell you a method they use, but it will never be a method they actually make their own money with. Usually something they know other small time people do to generate some kind of money, but never anything they do on a daily basis. Another thing you have to look out for is partial methods. Ever been told to make a poll about something popular and have a lead behind it to make some money? Yeaaaah… that doesn’t work too well when you aren’t generating the right keywords, setting up the landing page correctly or using a lead towards your target. People tell you about a method, but the whole method is much more complex. In order to have a method you must know every single variable and think about it all the way through. It is not just step one… step 2… step 3 = MONEY MONEY MONEY. That is why I don’t like E-Books. Everything that you would spend 20-$200 on, you can find for free on a website like this or in other free downloadable E-Books. Most are vague and most skip the money making variables. The reason for this… SATURATION BABY!!. Smart marketers know when to sell their ideas. They are not going to sell an idea that people don’t know already. They will give ideas that have been used by a lot of people. Anything to do with Zango… saturated. Anything Myspace… saturated. yet you constantly see these E-Books being sold and people buying them. Keep the money and save it for PPC advertising. No one will give you the whole story. I think this is the best lesson you learn because you are going to look for help and you are going to find somone who knows what they are doing, but will tell you to E-Whore just to shut you up. Yea Alex, I’m talkin’ to you buddy!! All kidding aside, you need to figure it out on your own and not get discouraged that the methods you are reading about arn’t working for you.

Suggestions:

•Read about methods, but look deeper and put your OWN TWIST ON IT.

•Sign up to some smaller CPA companies which will be more likely to assist you when you need help.

•If you are spening less than $50 on an E-Book, you have already heard it and it’s not worth the money.

•Network, network, network… Make friends and do favors for those friends who may do favors for you as well.

LASTLY…

•Think of an old method and sell the HELL out of it on digitalpoint forums… they will never know!! I Kid… Sorta.
